For instance, support for QuickBooks Desktop 2021 will end after May 31, 2024. This means users will lose access to services like QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, Desktop Payments, live technical support, online data backup, and crucial security updates.
QuickBooks Enterprise: A Continuing Option
QuickBooks Enterprise, the version installed on local computers, will remain available for purchase even after July 31, 2024. This provides an ongoing option for those who prefer a desktop-based solution.
Transition to QuickBooks Online
QuickBooks is encouraging both new and existing users to consider QuickBooks Online, emphasizing its cloud-based services. For current Desktop users, QuickBooks offers a straightforward process to migrate company data to the online platform. The transition duration varies depending on the company’s size but generally takes less than an hour. QuickBooks Online provides the advantage of anytime, anywhere access, and continuous support and security updates for your data.
