FEMA has recently approved New York State for a grant to assist with administering unemployment benefits to its residents. This grant will allow New York to provide $300 per week to those unemployed due to COVID-19 in addition to their usual unemployment benefit. The program has not yet begun but it seems that payments will be issued soon. FEMA is currently working with Governor Andrew Cuomo to create a system that will make these funds available to New Yorkers in the near future.
